Sounds like a good idea. I'd like to recommend having a look at Imoen in the original Baldur's Gate as well. I recently played though it and found that Immy had a very different language; a lot of slang, abbreviations and expressions that aren't present in Baldur's Gate 2.
I think that it's clear that Imoen has some emotional development due to what she experiences at the hands of Irenicus, I find it sort of sad that her language is so less colourful in Shadow of Amn. Although I think it could be argued that writing her wholly in a Baldur's Gate style would be inconsistent with her existing dialogue, perhaps there's room for some of her old expressions slipping through now and then?
It's because in fact, the BG2 Imoen is a clone. Why?
Because the real Imoen was killed during BG1. Irenicus has found her body and created a clone with false memories.
That's why she said that she was attending lessons in Candlekeep and that the PC was dodging them, which obviously isn't true.
