Sounds like a good idea. I'd like to recommend having a look at Imoen in the original Baldur's Gate as well. I recently played though it and found that Immy had a very different language; a lot of slang, abbreviations and expressions that aren't present in Baldur's Gate 2.

I think that it's clear that Imoen has some emotional development due to what she experiences at the hands of Irenicus, I find it sort of sad that her language is so less colourful in Shadow of Amn. Although I think it could be argued that writing her wholly in a Baldur's Gate style would be inconsistent with her existing dialogue, perhaps there's room for some of her old expressions slipping through now and then?

It's because in fact, the BG2 Imoen is a clone. Why?
Because the real Imoen was killed during BG1. Irenicus has found her body and created a clone with false memories.
That's why she said that she was attending lessons in Candlekeep and that the PC was dodging them, which obviously isn't true.

After all the years of waiting, I thought I'd finally sign up to comment:

The idea of a re-written SoA Imoen romance appeals greaty, to me at least. Show the mod the kind of love we all show Imoen, and around the world BGII discs will suddenly find themselves pulled out of retirement. The mod was great back then (One of, possibly -the- best I ever had the pleasure of using.) and a chance to play it again just has me drooling. Hells, I thought the mod had died and gave up on it well over a year ago, the knowledge that now, someday, it'll be complete has made my day - thank you! :D

I only dug BG2 out earlier this year, during the pre-Dragon Age/Mass Effect 2 game drought over summer (also played through Torment as well, and I have to agree with Lord Mirrabbo that it is still the very best out there...)

I discovered about this module while tracking through Spellhold Studio's forums, getting both games to y'know WORK with my graphis card! I was well chuffed to find it, as I'd always bemoaned the fact that the romances in BG 2 had left out the best character. (First play through had me spitting fumes when Irenicus swiped her!) So, I've played of the way through BG 2 with the first version of this mod, and then sort of stopped.

I kept half an eye on the website, checking back every so often (I was kind of hoping that the TOB section might be finished soon when I first started), and I arrived at just about the time the forums got lost in spam.

So, as you can no doubt tell, I still checked occasionally, and finding out about the changeover/update is great news! I'm content to wait as long as it takes, but just knowing it's still being worked on is heartening. So, though I doubt I'll be by very often, know that I will remain interested, so good luck to everyone involved and thanks for keeping the dream alive!

Well, I for one am glad to see that this project is once again alive.

Also, I think an SOA rewrite is probably due. As much as I loved Lord M's mod, some things really bothered me; mainly the "Be mean to Imoen and suddenly eat a fireball of Bhaaldeath."

Anyway, this should be fun. I look forward to finding an excuse to fire up BG2 again.

Just a small news update:

Life has been busy as fuck lately, due to issues in my personal life and switching jobs. However, Easter break is coming up (during which I don't have to work), and I plan on spending most of my days (at least 4 hours per day) working on the Imoen SOA v2. We should see some major progress. I also have a small status update on TOB, which I'll go post in the appropriate forum.
