possibilities I would like to see:
- a pregnant Imoen - The PC ascends
- a pregnant Imoen - The PC does not ascend
So a baby of two, well, demigods - okay, lets write a BG3 :D

Anyway several different ending options would heighten the replay value...

Yeah, I agree that Imoen ascending on her own doesn't make sense because:

1) If she's the Imoen we know and love, I think it would be out of character for her to desire to ascend on her own; even with you ascending, I think she'll require some convincing to join you. Becoming a god (at least a Good one) puts a lot of seriousness and obligation on your shoulders, after all; not things that she's particularly fond of.

2) If your CHARNAME is the kind of person to "corrupt" her to the point that she might desire the power herself, it wouldn't make sense for that same CHARNAME, then, to want to give up all the power to her.

Either way, the possibility seems unlikely at best.

that sounds pretty good to me, having to convince her to ascend with charname.

Of course, unlikely to let her ascend alone. But not impossible for the ascension of both - question is just how to make it possible to let the PC know that he/she could let Imoen ascend too.

Obligation ... well, lets say it is also a lot of obligation on the shoulders of the PC as well. I like it if a character I play is defined not just by his/her actions but also by the people he/she cares for - a romance (and this is what the mod is about) is a way to give your character depth, makes him/her more concrete as a character.
What if the character you play is on the one hand willing to be a god with all the obligation because of, well, duty or something but on the other hand feels not strong enough to do this all alone. So the romance could, puting the joint ascention into it, bring a strength to the character because Imoen is someone who has something in common with the PC - beeing a Bhaalspawn. No other character (even if romanced) can understand what it means to be a Bhaalspawn than Imoen.
It is not just that devine spark, it is also a question about sharing something with someone no one else would ever understand - so if the PC feels let's say an obligation to become a god but would have no one to share this existence and everything that is bounded to that existence.
Where the one is week the other is strong.

And Imoen states in the mod that she does not want to be seen as the little sister, beeing tortured and raped while she is imprissoned and to "survive" this long period of time also shows a lot of strength.
Let's face it: With the mod Imoen is not really quite the same person Bioware created but an alternative Imoen - in my opinion she has grown through the mod, it gives her more depth and so I see no reason not to let her evolve to a mature woman that can also take responsibility.
So let her grow up. ;)
The mod already has some basics about a Imoen that has grown up in some ways - so there is already something you can build on to let her evolve to a more mature character that still is the character we know from the original game (in which much potential of her character was wasted).

I see a very good reason for the own character to try to convince Imoen to become a goddess ...
And btw. I was just thinking about the dualism of devinity, the dualism of nature, so it would bring also a mystical level into it. - I like that.

So I would keep the ascension of the PC and Imoen in mind.

And to add a little off topic: One god is ... very boring.
A pantheon full of gods is a handful of characters like the family Ewing in the tv-series Dallas - one god is like Dallas just with J. R. ;)

I hope you guys understand what I mean - it is not that easy to argue in english.

At this point all I want to see is a completed download for this mod.

Hear, hear. There are lot of interesting ideas being kicked around in this thread, and if even half of them are implemented, this mod will be in development until doomsday.

I think Lord M once said he was planning dozens of different epilogues for ToB. I knew as soon as I read it that we'd probably never see a completed mod. I sometimes think that if the SoA mod hadn't included all those options to throw rocks at Imoen and make silly noises, the ToB mod could have been done by now.

There are only three epilogues you really need, one of which we already have:

1) Not romancing Imoen
2) Romancing Imoen, stay mortal
3) Romancing Imoen, become a god

An option to corrupt Imoen over the course of the game would be great. So would options to have kids once the game is over, or return to Candlekeep, or travel to Icewind Dale, or open a puppy orphanage. Leave all that for future versions of the mod. You don't have to do everything in one go. Just release something first, then build on it.

The number one feature we all want for ToB is for it not to be vaporware.

Well, the original mod left two clear 'hooks' that are going to have to be addressed in the ToB portion.

First, and probably biggest: what was Imoen doing during the ten years or so before she arrived at Candlekeep, and why has she completely blocked it out of her memory? I'm guessing that sequence was probably intended as foreshadowing towards what the Master Wraith will pull out to torment her at Nyalee's temple.

And secondly: what's up with that bracelet? There's clearly more going on than just 'a magical trinket she stole.'

I'll add my voice to calls for an ending in which the pair ascends together.

That one banter with Sarevok will need to be edited to remove reference to an 'unrequited longing' that is now clearly very, very requited. At that, I'd be interested to see if being in a relationship with Imoen engenders some greater discussion on which one of you gives a bit of soul to Sarevok.

Jrandom, I totally agree. However, SoA v. 20 might change things a bit. Since there is a new writer, it might *feel* like a different mod.

You can actually ask Imoen about the long version of our history in the first dungeon, in an unmodified expansion. She'll say "Gorion took you in as his own when you were a first born. and raised you for 10 years before you met me. The 10 years I wasn't there was a blur, I don't remember much about it."

Not exact words, but I will upload a screen-shot for everyone later.

Then There's the situation:Was bioware planning to give Imoen an actual story? I mean, why bother saying you only meet her at age 10 and giving her a mysterious past? In any case, it's a story that never was. The writers, though legendary, seem to have forgotten some loose ends, only some of which have been fixed in the Unfinished Business mod.
